Redundancy – institutional interests or public approbation

(Reflections on RTP2 national channel)
RTP2 is the second TV-channel which aims mainly on intellectual content broadcasting programs without interruption. This is essential for a good TV channel and its survival in the media world. In the same time RTP2 has a very diverse and complex television content which includes advertising, TV series, documentaries, children’s blocks and daily talk-shows. A closer look at the content of the channel raises some questions of whether its purpose is as it looks or it has deeper meaning and interpretation.
In the overview we see that there are so many programs that reach only a middle part of the audience. I can say that it’s a quiet evident form of a refusing to reflect any other realities. Sometimes it is called a dozen of unbalance, even though there are plenty of possibilities to broadcast more entertainment information on one hand, on the other hand we found other important set of aspects somewhere lost in the background, placed there like an ineffective programmers that are less diffused on prime-time.
An effective communication is focused on some ingenious elements. These elements are able to capture the interest, or, in other words the production of media messages must convene and satisfy public interests. That’s the reason why the combination of known elements with those that have a novel character will claim media consumption.
From my point of view RTP2 is a media company that focuses on the macro-effects of the mass communication, expressed through an evident sleeper-effect. RTP2 will fortify the programs itinerary which will lead to a routine media climate. This channel presents clearly the unifying effect which implies the media-repetitive omnipresence.
